If we were going to read a textbook on the elements that should be in a Board of Directors, it would tell us about the balance of gifts that need to be represented: legal, finance, donor, etc.  As an MDI Mentor, your lens needs to be broader. You will be working with leaders of ministries and leaders of ministry Boards. The dynamic between the top leader of a ministry and that ministry’s Board of Directors can be complex and illusive.  Often the leader and the Board do not know their respective or shared responsibilities. This can lead to confusion, misalignment, lack of momentum, and sometimes even conflict.
